Family sessions take place in an outdoor location such as a park or botanical garden. While I have my favourite spots, I am always happy to hear of new suggestions. 

Where does the photoshoot take place?

Newborn sessions take place in my cozy home studio in Elsternwick. I provide all props, wraps and accessories, though feel free to bring a special item you want to incorporate!

Where do the sessions take place?

Photoshoots take place all year round! In terms of the time of day, I am a lover of magic hour, the hour before the sun sets. This time of day produces that beautiful glowy effect that is signature to my photos. In the winter this can be as early as 4pm and in the summer as late as 7.30pm.  As this is a key feature to making my photos in the style they are, I really emphasize the importance of working your kids naps, snacks and bedtime around magic hour on the day of our session. Trust me, it's worth it!

What time do you do photoshoots?

A few days before our session I will touch base to confirm the details of our shoot. If rain is predicted we can either reschedule or wait until the morning of the scheduled date to see if we want to progress that day or book another date.
If someone in your family is unwell on the day of our session, don't stress! Just send me an email and we'll make a time to reschedule.  

What do we do if it's raining or one of us is sick?

A non refundable $150 deposit (deducted from your session cost) is required when booking your date.
If the weather doesn't work out, or someone is unwell, there's no need to cancel, we just reschedule the date!

What is your cancellation policy?

My photography style is classic and timeless - your photos won't go out of style! I shoot with an eye for beauty, emotion and artistry and I edit to truly bring out all these features. 

How do you describe your photography style?

After your session, I will send you an online watermarked gallery of all the photos from our session. These will be unedited. The photos are not for sharing or saving to your phone, just for selecting the ones you love. Once you choose your favourite images and send me an email notifying me you have done so (all instructions will be sent at the time) the turnaround time to receive your fully edited and high resolution images is between 4-6 weeks.
If you need the photos sooner, a faster turnaround can be arranged for a fee.

How long does it take to receive our images?

I do not provide RAW files or unedited images.
Just like a painter would not sell (or give away) a canvas where just the base layer has been painted.
It is not a true reflection of my standard of work.

Can we get the RAW or unedited files?

The ideal time to take newborn photos is between    5-14 days after birth, and then as soon as possible after that. This is because babies are generally sleepiest then and easier to pose. 

When is the best time to do newborn photos?

Getting out for a newborn shoot can be hard as a new Mum and I get that. I don't want you to have the added stress of being worried about how your baby will be during the shoot. I keep my studio nice and warm which babies absolutely LOVE.  I use white noise, snuggly wraps and some other little tricks to help calm unsettled babies. However! It is completely normal and expected for me to spend quite a bit of time settling the baby- that's why I give 2 hours for the session! Part of that time is often used for feeding, settling and then resettling. 

What if my baby doesn't settle?

If something changes and you are unable to make it on the day we have booked, there's no need to cancel, we just reschedule!

What is your cancellation policy?

We will discuss this as well as all the other details regarding the newborn session when you book, as well as a follow up after birth (because, pregnancy brain! ;) But in short- my studio is equipped with all the wraps, props and accessories. All you have to bring are the items you need for feeding and changing your baby and anything else you might need for a trip out the house with your newborn. I'll provide the snacks too!

What do I need to bring to the session?

So first of all, I always tell mums- your baby leads the session! They will decide how many setups we get to do and which poses they do or don't like. It is my top priority to ensure your baby-and you!- are completely comfortable and I will NEVER force a baby into a pose. I only do poses that your baby is naturally happy to do and that will vary from baby to baby.
I make sure to use hand sanitizer and ensure all wraps and props are clean.
In addition, I am vaccinated for Tdap.

Couple and maternity sessions are priced the same as family sessions.

Do you offer extended family or couple/maternity shoots?

At this time my studio is centered solely around your baby and I do not offer sibling poses. I am always happy to do a family shoot for all of you when bubs is a little older. Check out my family sessions!
